PEGA

Description: The name represents her classic beauty but modern contemporary feel. She is smart and sophisticated yet playful and adventurous. The design plays with a blunt nosed but sharp and fairly straight bow. The slightly negative flare to the topsides towards the aft gives a classic feel at the same time as it makes perfect use of the built in rubber protection list that flows neatly from bow to stern. Color wise two different alternatives would be available: brass - darker and bolder, silver - lighter and calmer.

EKOCHARTER

Description: The Ekocharter cat was conceived as an event and transportation vessel for protected waters. With electric propulsion and environmentally friendly materials this is an interesting alternative to fuel consuming RIB-charter boats. It also has a clear potential as a transportation boat in urban areas.

INDI 38 - THE ULTIMATE CRUISER

Description: Derived from the notion of a new kind of layout for cruising sailboats this is a boat that has been in the back of our minds for a long time. The dream for us as yacht designers have always been to reevaluate common solutions and to work with each project unconditionally so as not to create just another white boat. 

The concept is easy – make a good and well protected cockpit along with the more exposed sailing cockpit, remove the inside seating area and receive more room in the inside for cabins, kitchen and bathroom. The result is unmatched room in the cockpit, a more social layout and relatively more accommodation and stowage space. 

Part of the idea is to challenge proven solutions by focusing on the probable utilization of the boat and through innovative ideas achieve an attractive product, both in a sailing as well as from a liveaboard and design perspective. 

Structurally this layout makes sense, with natural reinforcements from the interior in the exact right places. The addition of a folding keel and twin rudders improve the concept both in sailing capabilities and in cruising/handling.

TRIMARAN

Description: Sailing capabilities touching in to the performance realm of the trimaran world together with a protected sun bed, huge aft cabin, real kitchen and toilet; all this packed in an aggressive design with a free uncluttered deck layout and spacious social areas – this is EBYD:s contribution in trimaran development. 

Ekman – Blomquist Yacht Design and Linderson Consulting have started a collaboration with the goal to develop an attractive sailing trimaran. Without real prior experience in multihull design, EBYD will use Torbjörn Linderson’s vast experience in the field to innovate the trimaran world. The goal has been a smart and roomy family cruiser but with focus on performance and with a speedy, race inspired design. 

Part of the idea is to challenge proven solutions by focusing on the probable utilization of the boat and through innovative ideas achieve an attractive product, both in a sailing as well as from a liveaboard and design perspective. 

Part of the challenge is to plan the boat from a production perspective and therefore keep the complexity at a minimum. This also to keep the price down. Simplicity and well thought through solutions will be central in the design. This partly because the high level of complexity in existing market trimarans often is seen as a downside.
